UX/UI design for Cleangang, creating interfaces for a growing e-commerce brand.
My role:
UI/UX Designer
Key results:
Membership Sales Growth
Timeline:
2023-2026
Tools:
Figma; Adobe
Project info:
Cleangang is a brand specializing in the sale of cleaning products and cleaning accessories. Founded in 2021, it has grown its sales across the Polish and German markets from the beginning, later expanding its operations to Austria. The brand’s business model is primarily based on online sales.
My role:
For 2.5 years, I worked on the development of the Cleangang online store as a UX/UI Designer. My main responsibilities included designing user flows and creating responsive interfaces in Figma. I was also responsible for building the design system from scratch, continuously developing it, preparing prototypes, and creating handoff materials for developers.
I designed landing pages, forms, product sections, and CMS elements, ensuring visual consistency, usability, and alignment with the store’s business goals. I also supported QA during implementation reviews and helped with user behavior analysis.
On a daily basis, I worked directly with designers, developers, QA, SEO specialists, and the marketing team.
Challenge:
One of the main challenges of the project was to increase sales in the Cleangang online store. We were looking for an area that could have a real impact on conversion, increase the customer basket value, and support long-term sales growth.
Data insight:
Data analysis showed that the brand’s business model was mainly based on returning customers. Customers using the Cleangang Club membership not only came back to purchase more often, but also generated a higher basket value. On their first order, their basket value was on average 24% higher, and on the second order it still remained 17% higher compared to customers without the Club.
Design solution:
To increase the visibility of the Cleangang Club membership and clearly communicate its benefits, double pricing was introduced on product listings. Each product showed both the standard price and the Club price, allowing users to immediately see the value of joining the program.
After selecting the checkbox and adding a product to the cart, all prices in the store automatically updated to Club prices, and the membership was added to the cart without requiring any additional steps.
At the same time, users kept full control over the purchase flow. They could remove the membership from the cart at any moment, and all prices would automatically return to their standard values.
Business Impact:
After the new design was deployed to production on 24 September 2025, Cleangang Club membership sales increased significantly.
Cleangang Club Membership Sales in Germany
On the German website, in October, the first full month after deployment, the number of new memberships increased from 203 to 786 compared to the previous month. This means a 287% increase, making new membership sales nearly 4 times higher. Importantly, this was not a one-time spike, as sales remained high in the following months.
On the Polish version of the store, the increase was equally noticeable. The strongest result came in November, when the number of new memberships grew from 216 in September to 972 in November. This means a 350% increase, making new membership sales 4.5 times higher.
Cleangang Club Memberships Sold in Poland
Additionally, the year-over-year comparison showed an even stronger effect. In Poland, the number of new memberships was 409% higher compared to the previous October and 631% higher compared to the previous November. In Germany, the year-over-year growth was also very clear: +339% in October and +271% in November.
